Aurora Aksnes' earliest musical memory is of finding a piano hidden in her attic, and becoming fascinated with the sound it made. The parents of her May-Britt family and Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to study music, not for a profession or a pastime, but as a way to develop. As a result, she started writing songs of her own. She acknowledges Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen, along with Bjork for being among her inspirations. Her mother encouraged her to perform her music publicly, not to be famous, but to let others know that they matter and the good they do for humanity. She began playing the piano at age six and making music when she was 9 years old. Family members didn't even be aware of this until she reached the age of 14. Aurora was not a dream of her childhood. Aurora is simply a writer who loves writing songs. The songs she creates are how she feels about any thing.
